Gianni Infantino’s post-World Cup ‘spreading hate’ essay: A fact-check

“As everyone knows, the best way to let everyone know that you’re absolutely fine and that the haters and the losers definitely haven’t got under your skin is to post an 887-word statement, stretched over 15 slides on Instagram, saying you’re absolutely fine and the haters and the losers definitely haven’t got under your skin. So from that you can conclude that Gianni Infantino is perfectly content. Tip-top actually. Never been better. Why do you ask? Four years ago, Infantino delivered his landmark “Today, I feel…” speech before the World Cup in Qatar. For Jordanian citizens, that rate was at 57 per cent. Fans from Algeria, Cape Verde, Tunisia as well as Senegal and Ivory Coast initially had to provide bonds of up to $15,000 to qualify for a visa: that requirement was dropped in May, by which time it was too late for many. …”

Eredivisie
“… The Eredivisie consists of 18 clubs. Each club meets every other club twice during the season, once at home and once away. At the end of each season, the two clubs at the bottom are relegated to the second level of the Dutch league system, the Eerste Divisie (First Division), while the champion and runner-up of the Eerste Divisie are automatically promoted to the Eredivisie. The club finishing third from the bottom of the Eredivisie goes to separate promotion / relegation play-offs with six high-placed clubs from the Eerste Divisie.  The winner of the Eredivisie claims the Dutch national championship. Ajax have won the most titles with 36. PSV Eindhoven are next with 27, and Feyenoord follow with 16. …”
